Dingač Wine Region

    15-20 min drive

Croatia's most prestigious wine appellation. Steep vineyards cascading into the Adriatic, producing powerful Plavac Mali reds that rival the world's best. The Dingač region is unique—vertical terraces carved into mountainsides, where vines are tended entirely by hand. The microclimate here, with intense sun reflected off both rock and sea, produces grapes of exceptional concentration. Dingač was Croatia's first protected wine appellation (1961), and remains the benchmark for Plavac Mali. Winemakers like Matuško, Skaramuča, and Miloš have elevated these wines to international acclaim, with some vintages scoring 99 points.
