Strategic Circles
Heads of eCommerce Circle.
For leaders responsible for digital commerce architecture, channel strategy, and P&L — across different sectors and business models. From DTC-first to omnichannel, luxury to mass market.
The eCommerce function has evolved from a channel to a strategic capability. The leaders running it now own P&L, technology architecture, customer experience, and increasingly, the digital transformation agenda of the entire organisation. But functional peer exchange at this level is remarkably scarce.
Why functional peers matter
Your industry peers understand your market. Your functional peers understand your job. The challenges of scaling a digital commerce operation — platform architecture, team structure, stakeholder management, P&L ownership — are remarkably portable across industries. A Head of eCommerce at a luxury brand and one at a consumer electronics company face structurally identical problems in completely different contexts.
What gets discussed
Platform migration decisions and their real consequences. Building eCommerce teams that balance commercial and technical capabilities. The politics of owning a P&L that touches every other function. Marketplace strategy beyond the standard vendor analysis. How to maintain strategic influence when the organisation sees eCommerce as "just a channel."
The cross-industry advantage
Solutions that seem novel in your industry are often standard practice in another. A Head of eCommerce in FMCG has solved problems that a counterpart in fashion hasn't encountered yet — and vice versa. This circle deliberately mixes industries to maximise that cross-pollination.
How Boris curates the circle
Same function, same seniority, different industries. Boris ensures every participant holds genuine eCommerce leadership responsibility — not a marketing director who happens to oversee a webshop. The functional depth is what makes the exchange meaningful.
This Circle is for leaders who:
- —Hold Director+ eCommerce or Digital Commerce roles with P&L responsibility
- —Manage digital commerce strategy, platform architecture, or channel operations
- —Want functional peer exchange across industries, not just within their sector
- —Are ready to share real operational and strategic challenges
- —Value relationships that follow their career across companies and industries

Every gathering is built personally by Boris.
"I built two companies, scaled across borders, then spent years inside EMEA headquarters advising the people who run them. That's why I can build this room: I've sat on both sides of the table."
Boris builds every gathering personally, not through an algorithm, not through a team. He reviews every application, builds the room as a whole, and is present for all four days.
Boris built two companies from scratch, scaling to 35 FTE across four offices before pivoting to enterprise advisory. Through his SO DIGITAL and Otto Ziegler Consulting practice, he worked with Directors, VPs, and SVPs at EMEA headquarters: Nike across 14 markets, Uber across 46, WarnerBrosDiscovery / HBO Max across 17, Amazon Ring across 10, and global HQs like TomTom, Victorinox, and Jacobs Douwe Egberts, spanning brand, marketing, creative, e-commerce, supply chain, operations, and procurement. Parallel to this he attended dozens of cross-industry conferences both across Europe, but also across the globe from Hong Kong to Las Vegas. He saw the downsides of mass gatherings for genuine professional connection. It's this combination, founder experience and cross-industry HQ exposure, that shapes how he builds every gathering: he knows which problems are universal, which people can help solve them, and how to build a room where that exchange actually happens.
