Grape Harvest Volunteering

Every autumn, the steep south-facing slopes of Dingač and Postup come alive with the grape harvest. These are Croatia's most prestigious vineyards — terraced into near-vertical hillsides above the Adriatic, accessible only by foot. Local winemaking families have worked these slopes for generations, and during harvest season, every willing pair of hands is valued. You'll pick Plavac Mali grapes alongside the people who tend them year-round, learning the rhythm of harvest work: selecting ripe clusters, filling crates, carrying them down narrow paths to the collection points. It's physical — the slopes are steep and the sun is warm — but the views are extraordinary and the camaraderie is genuine. Most groups say the harvest lunch afterwards, with the winemaker's own wine and home-cooked food, was one of the highlights of their entire retreat.
