Olive Grove Volunteering
10-15 min driveEvery November and December, Pelješac's olive groves come alive with the harvest. Local families have been pressing olive oil here for centuries, and during harvest season, every pair of hands is welcome. Our olive grove volunteering connects retreat groups with local producers for a morning or full day of picking. You'll learn the technique (it's harder than it looks), hear stories about the grove's history, and taste the fresh-pressed oil straight from the press. This is agricultural participation, not agricultural tourism — you're genuinely helping, and the families appreciate it. Available November through early December only.

💡 Insider TipThe best olive oil comes from hand-picked fruit pressed within 24 hours. If you time your visit right, you can follow your morning's harvest to the press and taste the oil that afternoon. Some families will let you take a bottle of "your" oil home.
